Yes, you can! At Rattinan Medical Center, we understand the importance of personalized care, especially for international patients traveling alone.

To ensure your comfort and a smooth recovery, we offer a Private Nurse Service that can be added to your package. This service provides professional, one-on-one nursing care tailored to your specific needs.

What should I look for in a clinic before selecting my liposuction surgery?

Ensure the clinic is AACI accredited and that the surgeon is experienced and board-certified. Ask about the liposuction techniques offered and the type of equipment or machine used, as advanced technologies can enhance safety and results.

Liposuction Techniques & Technology

Which machines are used for liposuction at Rattinan Medical Center?

At Rattinan Medical Center, we utilize advanced technologies like the J-Plasma and BodyTite machines for optimal body contouring.

The BodyTite device combines radiofrequency (RF) energy to effectively dissolve dense fat while simultaneously tightening the skin.

Its specialized suction head ensures precise fat removal and smoother results, providing patients with a more contoured and rejuvenated appearance.

I am slim but have fat on my waist and want curves. Is liposuction a good option for me?

Yes, liposuction can help enhance your figure by removing excess fat in targeted areas, such as the waist, to create a more proportionate and contoured shape.

It is especially effective for individuals who are not obese but have stubborn fat deposits.

Can I get six-pack abs with liposuction?

Yes, you can achieve six-pack abs with liposuction through a technique called abdominal etching. This procedure removes fat from specific areas of the abdomen to enhance the visibility of the underlying muscles.

The longevity of your results depends on maintaining a healthy lifestyle after the procedure. By staying active, eating a balanced diet, and avoiding significant weight fluctuations, you can enjoy your sculpted abs for years to come.

Anesthesia & Pain Management

Does liposuction using local anesthesia hurt?

No, liposuction using local anesthesia is typically painless.

At Rattinan Medical Center, the Pure Tumescent technique is used, ensuring the right amount of anesthesia is administered. This method combines a strong anesthetic with other medications, providing long-lasting numbness and minimizing pain during and after the procedure.

Additionally, this technique reduces bleeding and bruising, enhancing comfort during recovery.

Risks & Side Effects

Is there any side effects of liposuction?

Yes, liposuction can have side effects. Common ones include bruising, swelling, pain, and temporary numbness in the treated areas. More serious complications, though rare, may include infection, blood clots (such as deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism), fat embolism, organ damage, excessive bleeding, or reactions to anesthesia.

Skin irregularities, such as lumps or uneven contours, may also occur. Proper surgical planning, an experienced surgeon, and following post-operative care instructions can reduce the risk of these side effects.

Can death be caused by liposuction?

Yes, but it is rare. Death from liposuction can occur due to complications such as a blood clot forming in the legs (deep vein thrombosis, DVT) that travels to the lungs and blocks blood flow (pulmonary embolism).

Other potential causes include excessive bleeding, organ perforation, complications from anesthesia, and severe infections.

While these events are uncommon, they highlight the importance of choosing a qualified surgeon and carefully following pre- and post-operative care instructions to minimize risks.

When can blood clots occur during liposuction?

Blood clots can develop during or after liposuction as a result of surgical trauma to blood vessels, prolonged immobility, or underlying risk factors such as obesity, smoking, hormonal medications, or clotting disorders.

These clots, such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE), are more likely to occur in patients with limited circulation or during lengthy procedures.

Preventive measures like early mobilization, the use of compression devices, and anticoagulant therapy for high-risk individuals can significantly lower the risk of clot formation.

Post-Surgery Care

What will happen if I wear the wrong compression garment after liposuction?

Wearing the wrong compression garment, such as one not specifically designed for liposuction or purchased from the general market, can result in wavy or uneven skin.

Additionally, garments that are too tight or worn for too long may lead to discomfort, restricted blood flow, or even skin damage, potentially affecting your recovery and final results.

Always follow your surgeon’s recommendations when choosing and using a compression garment.

How long do I need to wear a compression garment after liposuction?

You should start wearing a compression garment immediately after liposuction to minimize bleeding and swelling. Wear it continuously for the first 24 hours, except when showering, for 3–7 days as advised by your doctor.

After that, switch to wearing it for 12 hours daily (either during the day or at night) for 1–3 months.

If you wish, you can continue wearing it longer for added support, but avoid wearing it all day and night indefinitely.

What should I do if I feel dizzy after liposuction?

Feeling dizzy after liposuction is often due to dehydration. To prevent or address dizziness, drink plenty of water frequently, aiming for at least 2 liters of water in the first 6 hours post-surgery.

If you feel the need to sleep upon arriving home, set an alarm to wake up every 3–4 hours. When you wake up, eat a light meal and drink more water to maintain hydration and energy levels.

Avoid sleeping for prolonged periods without hydrating, as this can worsen dizziness or delay recovery. If dizziness persists or worsens, contact your doctor immediately.
